MK802II Conversion – Part 2 It’s running

So the conversion from MiniX to MK802II is done. Just flash the MK802II-v1.1.img file with Phoenixcard and you have a MK802II device.

Remember: only one usb port works (the OTG left one), no IR support and no composite out (yet).

But it is a very clean rom, you have soft power down, hide the status bar and good speed.

The rom has build in ROOT so you can use advanced features too.

In part 3 I’m fixing the composite AV out and hopefully the two USB ports.

EDIT: there seems to be a problem with the root. I can’t mount the filesystem as read/write and busybox has some problems.

  1. Yes indeed. The IR function IS switched on in the script.bin, but the modules are not loaded, because they are not in the firmware. You can insmod them. A tutorial on that via Google, or later on this blog.

  2. What is the best way to get bluetooth dongle work? Cyanogenmod has this functionality but I don’t know if there’s firmware zip for Mini X and does it support AV output.

  3. AV out doesn’t have to be a problem. You can edit the script.bin for that to work. You can use Uberoid ROM as well, I’m preparing a tutorial how to flash that ROM next week.
