Lower performance on power over USB?

It might seem bogus, but I’m seeing a performance drop if I’m using the ADB connection on the right usb port, in combination with the HDMI out (in 720p).

It looks like the power adapter is indeed needed to provide extra power.

A standard usb port of a laptop can only provide 500 mA, but HDMI out is working, my mouse is powered, the cpu runs at 1GHZ. So indeed this must be a very low power device, I wonder how low it can go on composite out.

Apps seem less responsive, and earlier messages of “application does not respond” appear.

On the positive side: the device is much cooler now.

Testing this out further, but I need your help on confirmation.
